Monthly Events
Lynn Bowen will be conducting bird walks through the "season" on the fourth Wednesday of each month, except during December. That Wednesday in December falls on the day after Christmas and the Audubon Bird Count takes place that month. The dates are 8 a.m. Nov. 28, Jan. 23, Feb. 27, March 27, and April 24. Meet at the Live Oak parking lot.

We have had several inquiries about our free birding tours conducted at 3 pm every Sunday during January and February, weather permitting, at Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge in DeLeon Springs, Florida. The tours are sponsored by the West Volusia Audubon Society and we cover about 1 1/2 miles in an hour and a half tour on flat ground. We meet at the end of Mud Lake Road at 3 pm. It is open to the public and all are welcome. The attached photo is one taken on a past Sunday when we had about a dozen folks join us. The photo was taken by local realtor Arnette Sherman who is the Co-President of the West Volusia Audubon Society and a professional wildlife photographer and, Vice-President of the Friends of Lake Woodruff NWR Inc.. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Arnette-Sherman-Nature-Photography/149242245153844
Thanks for stopping by. C U soon on a Sunday at Lake Woodruff.
